I've had little success getting this coral ID'd, I'm hoping you guys can help.
It looks like a frilly mushroom but, it seems to have several mouths instead of one central mouth.

I do see what you are talking about multiple mouths but that may just very well be more tentacles growing out. Can you see one right in the center? I really think it is just a frilly mushroom.

I don't think there was one right in the center but, I have counted over 7 mouths on it. It's been that way since I bought it and it hasn't grow/split at all in 5 months.

I bought it from an online vendor that only listed it with a stock number, I thought it was a hairy mushroom from their picture.

If it really is a hairy mushroom, it will curl up into itself when fed. So I'd try target feeding it a tiny morsel and see what it does.

This is not a mushroom.

+1. Hydnophora is a good guess. The tissue margin looks very "stony coral" to me. If you can disturb it so the tentacles retract and take a photo it will probably be much easier to see the polyp and skeleton structure.

I'm thinking hydno as well... looks like a nice frag, as hydnos go... Just watch the sweeper tentacles at night!
