ID on smoking/puffing Snail please

Today I was watching activity in my tank and... all of a sudden i see smoke like activity coming from smal piece of the rock, picked it up and see this snail with a shell that ti about 1/3 of the snail lenght, but what is interesting is that the snail was releasing something into the water, looked like the snail was smoking a cigarette., i have pulled him out of the tank into the plastic cup to take some pictures, see below. Not sure what kind of snail it is therefore before I'll put him back into the tank i would like someone to tell me what it is..

No, it is not.

When my GF sees one in our tank she says: "Ohai Stomie!"
That girl is the cutest thing ever.

I have them in my tank too. They are great nocturnal eaters, except when they spawn which is always during the day for me. I think they come and go in seasons or something because sometimes I will just see large ones and every couple of months I will see tons of smaller ones in the fuge.

Similar looking to abalones, but they are not.
