Would someone please tell me what this coral is? I have had this coral since for almost a year and it is still the same size as when I got it, It expands a little here and there and sometimes closes up a little more. It has very little bumps for polyp extension but most of the time it is very smooth. It is extremely temperamental and only likes this one spot in the tank. It has never gotten a slimecoat or shed. It is the most boring coral I have ever seen, lol. What is this thing?

This is it

:) Yes it is a leather. I was looking for a little more info as to what the genus/species or name of the leather is if anyone knows. My toadstool leather that I have looks completely different than this one. My toadstool has long reaching waving polyps that come out and retract. This particular leather only has goosebumps.

does it have yellowish hue under day lights? it looks like a yellow Fiji leather...

a yellow fiji sarco is more brighter yellow .. i have a yellow tonga sarcophyton ..

its a species of sarcophtyon thats true... there are several species of them...like was said above...

Toadstools are funny, I have two very large ones in my display tank (210 gal) under t5 lights. One ALWAYS has its polyps out, like 24/7. The other only has the polyps extended about 2/3 of the time. Retracts them for unknown reasons, but they always come back out without worry.
If I were you, I would just wait. Put it in a place where it gets med/high lighting, and med/high flow and just wait. Let it settle in, and it should adapt to your tanks conditions.

when a toadstool is closed its always yellowish paler....
when its look like this it can be a fidji one this is a fidji/tonga one...

not all toadstool have a yellow hue to them... and the Fiji yellow comes in all shades so it can be paler.. I stick by my initial id of a Fiji yellow toadstool

Thank you everyone! I am pretty convinced it is a yellow Fiji toadstool now. I have moved it up a little higher since the info I looked at says it likes a little higher light and I will see what happens. Maybe that will make it happy

fidji sarco needs indeed lot of light medium flow... show a pic when its open okay?

Looks like a toadstool. Give it some light and flow, and most of all "time" to open up. They are notorious for closing up for a few days.
