ID Please: Coral? Sponge?

These popped up a few months ago in my daughter's tank. Tiny and hardly noticeable but now look pretty cool.

The first is a red something. It's soft, appears translucent and "waves" in the current. It's about the size of a dime.

The second is like a leopard pattern. It looks thin, like a potato chip from the side. It's about the size of a pencil eraser. It is soft.

Does the red thing have little holes at the ends of the branches? Look close.

I want to say some sort of macro-algae. The translucent look also makes me think tunicate. A tunicate would have holes, but they might be teensy tiny tiny.
