Is this an Ocellaris or Percula?

It's been in the tank for over 4 years without a mate, overall size is still quite small, 1.5-2". I'd assume at this rate, even though it's small it has been alone, so it's a female. Is there a way to find out what sex it is?

I'd also like to buy a misbar or picasso at some point. Will Ocellaris pair with Percula's or will I need to look for two of the same species? Would it be prudent if I wanted to pair it with my current clown to buy a juvenile? How do I make sure it isn't sexed yet?

Thanks!

I agree that it's an Ocellaris.

As to your other questions, yes Ocellaris and Percula's will pair up. I would suggest sticking with another Ocellaris and a juvenile would be your best way to go.

you got a slow grower there. i got clowns that are 2 years old bigger than yours. hehe
feed it more!

Great, good to know I was on the right track. Now I just have to find an Ocellaris morph as a juvenile that won't cost me an arm and a leg!

Mitch runs Booyahsreef in Algonquin, IL. I'm pretty sure there's something he would be able to do for ya. I just bought two youngin's from him, an ocellaris and a snowflake ocel. Very happy little fish in my new tank, he breeds em good! Hes got snowflakes, picasso's, platinums, onyx, snow onyx, etc... you looking for a variant he probably has one for you...
