ID please, pics...

Have no idea what this is, but it's growing in my tank on my zoo rock & really want to make sure it's not going to hurt anything by leaving it in there. Also have some red algae sprouting on the same rock as you can see in the 2nd pic. Thanks for any help :wave:

Looking sorta like Derbesia. Think elongated Valonia bubbles. Not always wanted by reefers. Someone else will have better eradication ideas, if that's your aim.

Can you elaborate please? In particular why it isn't always 'wanted' in reefs.

I wasn't planning on removing it unless it is a nuisance algae.
