ID Please (Rare?)

they look like the tongan variety of mush. the price isn't so bad if you can get it for that $10 for shipping i guess. im a mushroom nut so i'd pay it but theyd on't relaly wow me the way some ricordia and others do

I actually already own a colony of these and am just trying to learn more about them. I am a big SPS guy and never really took the time to appreciate the shrooms in my tank.

Actually after looking all around the internet I believe they may be superman mushrooms however mine have white and yellow around the rim.

They are just run of the mill rhodactis.

Not supermans what so ever.

The color redering on the picture is very questionable.
After personally seeing atleast a 100 of these per month I can tell you that the camera + lighting conditions + photo editing are doing the seller a huge favor.

My buddy + coworker Trottman on RC got hit in the eye with paly toxin and almost died.

The avatar is in honor of his near darwin death experience.

Nope he is fine and all is normal.

He might come on here and tell you the story.

They pumped 2L of fluid per hour through him for 12 hours straight. Also got his stomach pumped.
Spent two nights in the ICU.

Isn't Paly one of the most toxic toxins per micro gram on the planet....How much did he get...WOW...Sorry to here that....Was he fragging zoas or something???

Wow thats incredible now I feel guilty for bringing it up :( .. Was your friend the type to be allergic to other things like bee stings too or was this just a totally freak accident and reaction since I think something in your eye can hit the bloodstream really fast?

Yikes. Now I really have a reason to put off fragging the zoos in my tank that have attached to the rocks .. but am too scared to own palys- and haven't found any ones that really tickle me yet anyhow.

geez. argh. nightmares now!

No he is not allergic, it has nothing to do with allergies unfortunatly.

It's okay, looking back at it, it is a funny story.
I think his getting dosed in the eye slowed down the poison time actually, if he got it into a cut or his mouth I think he would have been sick faster. It took 17 hours for it to catch up to him and knock him out and to loose his pulse.

ANY zoa can poison you. Not just Palys.

Wear your goggles and gloves and clean up after yourself.
Keep other people out of the room too including pets.

It's just like anything else fun, be cautious.

No allergies neccessary, paly toxin is one of the most deadly naturally occuring compounds known to man. Be careful with your zoas
