I got a new coral from fishy business in bowling green tuesday. I think it is a cap but want a better ID. It has a sky blue body with white ridges and white rim. the valleys are a rusty color. the pics are under 10k w/actinics

The guy said they had it for a few months and it had been sky blue the whole time. They were running 250w and I think ~15k with 12" water.

Any idea what kind of light this guy needs?

Not to much lighting need. I was there fishy bizz like two weeks ago. And the MH that's over those frags tank are 14 months old or older. when I was talk to Mitch I pointed that out. And he Said it's ok they still have life in them. I look at him like what are talking about. And just walk back to his fish pond.I guess that way all those sps looked bad or dieding the only one looked was that big birdnest he had for 10yrs. He in to the fishpond stuff more than the saltwater. Just my 2 cents. Oh that was the 1st time I ever walk Out a LFS without something.

I agree with Zef. If someone says they are getting 14mths out of their halides I want them to order me a dozen. Bart I keep the coral about half way in your tank or a little lower it probably color up more over the next few weeks. Just dont put it up high.

I've ran DE MH for 20 months before (phoenix 150W bulbs). I plan on running my 10k's (250W EVC) at least 15 months. Photoperiod of 7hrs a day.

Single end bulbs may be a different story though.
