I purchased this coral at Dr Mac's about 6 months ago. I don't remember what he called it. I thought it was a grape coral but it has no stony base. It's more like a mushroom.

I think it's a St. Thomas Mushroom. Take a look at this web page and you will pics of more mushrooms like yours.
