i dont know in your city but here in miami lately the lfs are receiving little colonies of blastomusas glued together in a piece of rock, by the way i dont like them, this guy was in one of that pieces but i knew as soon as i saw it that it wasnt a blasto so i bought it, its like 2 inches long and it looks to me like two or three polyps, there is a small one that is not in the picture cause its on the other side, its metallic orange in the inside and green outside and at food time there are small tentacles coming from their mouth, did you know guys what it is ?

thanks, calero

calero, you scored it : )

It is still unkown LPS and I have a colony of that and few people has them as well.

It is not lobo and it is not Acan Lord or Echinata but not Acan Maxima...

thank you buddy

thank you buddy

thats what i thought cause it looks like a lobo but is not a lobo, anyway can we try with one of the authors that participate here in RF ? i would like to know, can i see a picture of yours ? if you are patient and go frequently to the lfs the day they brought the corals you might be lucky and find something rare.

thanks buddy

I'd agree with Chris.

You have an unusual coral there. Many have tried to ID it, and so far, no luck. Your piece has yet to settle in. Those polyps will get twice that size when they inflate.
Great score.

Thanks Randy for your input as well. One day I hope we could id it : )

Oh, calero becareful with that lobo looking coral as whatever it touches it will fry them... It killed my lobo, Acan Lord, Acan Echinata and Acan Bowerbanki (know as)...

I have never seen it sting any but if ever any coral accidently fall down to it than that is it.... (All of my case were like due to powerhead or frags were not glued so they droped to that orange lobo looking coral and gotten fried)
So distance from other coral is not an issue but make sure no other corals could fall down to it and you mount that coral not to fall down to anyother coral.

thanks

thanks

I'll be careful with that, thanks for the info and yes you are right, i unglued it from the blasto colony because he was damaging the blasto polyps, thanks again.
