I was guessing formosa, purple with bright green tips..ill get a better picture when I get home was in a hurry.

now with the lights on it looks a nice purple with blue tips and flourecent green corallites

If it slimes then it is a A. formosa. While you were mounting it, did it slime?
If it doesn't slime then I believe this to be A. pectinatus. It will be much easier to tell as it grows out. Retake this piece in a few months and post it again....

it did slime quite a bit....anyone else have any ideas or should i get a better picture.

the corallites dont really face upward like the onces on this page http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/html/001-100/Species pages/29.htm
