ID please

i owned one of these before my previous tank crashed. if someone could help me id this so that i could try and get a new one i would appreciate it. i know that it isnt a ricordia.

it was housed with both yuma and florida and it was just diffrent. you can see a couple of the florida beneath it. it was much larger then florida. but its bubbles, although not as uniform as florida was more uniform and larger then yuma. the crummy pic does it no justice. it was a beautiful blue and almost every bubble tip was highlighted.

Mine is very similar. I always thought it was a ricordea florida.

I am a collector, tcup. You have yourself a prize! Many people have rics close to that color... but I've not seen another like mine... that is Baby Blue, with pink tips ... and a very unique shaped skirting that is neutral-pinkish carrying matching baby-blue tips. Its unusual, for sure.

I'd love to see a better picture of yours... from what you posted, it looks quite similar to my Cajun Ric. :rollface:

I purchased this Ric in New Orleans before Katrina hit and did a big number on our 90g.

It survived 90 degree temps for nearly 2 weeks! I had two but lost one during the storm. When this baby is happy, it stretches out 5" by 3"!

I just sliced mine in half last week... wish me luck!

i HAD myself a gem. my tank crashed due to an ice storm here 2 years ago. i have been looking and looking for one of these to replace the ones i lost. yours is a beauty indeed. good luck with the slicing.

I agree with water bug. Looks like Ricordia Yuma to me.

That is R. florida. While it does appear that the pseudot's are forming along the mouth, I would bet after close examination one would find their origin to be along the oral disc. The pseudot's along the edge of the oral disc are also not in agreement with those of R. yuma. The presence of multiple mouths is also another clue...

I don't think that I stated it was a Florida Yuma... I referred to it as a Florida Ricordea.

i found someone that has some that he will sell me. he says that they are labeled as ricordea florida. they just look a little diffrent, almost seems like they should have a diffrent name. oh well, thanks all. i am glad i found one
