Hi All,

i have these littel red things all over my nano, i have never seen them before and there is tons of them, i dont have them in my 50 gallon. They dont seem to move that much if at all, they look like little rectangles and are a little bigger then a pin head, i want to say flat worms, but i really dont know. Hopefully the pics you can see.

any ideas will be helpful, and if they are bad, what i can do about it.

thanks,

Jeff

i think they are flatworms dealing with the same problem as we speak. Yours seems to be a little lighter in color thought. I have been trying to figure how to get rid of them here are some things i have found.
1. flatworm exit- i heard that if they are at plague status they can posion the tank.
2 Fish- yellow corris wrasse, six line, velvet sea slug,
3. once they reach a certain population they die beacuse lack of food in tank for them to eat.

what would be the best cure? Any other fish beside a six-line? Could a six line take care of all of them? and why are they bad?

Do a search on flatworm exit, it will kill most of them or if the rock is small enough you can do a quick freshwater dip and kind of swish the rock around in the water until they fall off.

A six line will keep the population in check as well.

The main reason they are bad is if there are enough of them they can kind of smother the corals they are on. They are also poisonous if they all die at the same time. In other words get the siphon ready =)

(love the avatar btw)

I should mention that purple mat in the center of the picture is closed GSP's, im talking about the tiny red specs all over the rocks.
