It's a type of Cryptoplax Chiton. Algae eater. Good to have.

Yup it's a chiton...we had a lot in our old mixed tank, interesting little creatures.

They can looke quite pretty too. Here's one I saw last week in the Caymans:

There was an old man there, that made beautiful necklaces out of them.

I have pink and green ones in my tanks . as stated above , they are good algae eaters .
