You might want to try posting this in the anemones and clownfish forum to see if you get some more answers.
It looks like an anemone to me, but I've never seen one with almost-sweeper-like-tentacles like you've got.
 
I hadnt thought about LPS, cause it didnt appear to have a skeleton. Perhaps we should ask.

Bigair, does it have a skeleton?

It does look alot like the Lobophyllia sp. listed on pg 276 of Borneman's Corals though
 
Thanks so much for the responses. I am actually helping a buddy of mine. I don't remember if it has a hard skeleton or not, but I will find out and get back to you on this.

This guy looks like the coral in the PIC in one of my earlier threads, but yes, it does have a skeleton but never retracts into it. Can't see how it ever could actually. But the base is skeletal and does extend up from its attachment to the LR...you can see it in the side view of one of the PICs...
