Hi all,

Tonight is the first time I have seen this creature ever in my tank.
I just saw about 10 of them, what is this creature?
Is it good or bad? What can I buy to get rid of them all.

BTW This is the best pic I can get, my camera sucks for closeup pics.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a well fed bristleworm, sometimes a problem, hard to monitor. The first time I saw one, I dang near jumped out of my skin! TinMan

I've been waiting to post this picture! I have vids too but i dont think its necessary.

Although they say its harmless, I don't like the idea of it in my tank. There are a few more in my tank, maybe I'll catch them... if not oh well.

yeah thats definitely it! :) LOL I wish I can capture them but all live in the rocks. I tried catching one tonight but wasnt at all successfull. Is there a fish that will eat them? Like a mandarin or something?

why do u want to get rid of them? They usually just help clean up the extra food u leave in the tank. If u want to control ur bristleworm population, just cut back on feedings. They will naturally die off

They're very good creatures to have in your tank: I just lost all of mine in a rock cooking accident and was very, very glad to see one turn up in some shell I acquired with my new cleaning crew. Now all I need is one more, and they'll do the rest.

Some coral keepers maintain that without them there would be no corals.

Certainly the oceans would be a mess.

Oh I thought they were a bad thing. Oh if they keep my tank nice and clean, I will definitely leave them alone. Wel as long I dont see hundreds of them LOL

Thanks guys
