i got this weird looking red thing growing on my back wall and overflow box. i dont think it is cyano bactieria. its kinda fuzzy to the feal and real thick at first i kinda thought it would go away but it has just grown even more.
my lvls are
tates are 80 ppm (just tested and thought it was weird)
trites are 0 ppm

does any one know what it is

I think it is cyano also
By tates I assume this is nitrates----is this a fowler tank--otherwise the nitrates are too high for a reef
In any case there is a high enough level to cause this

What's your phosphated level?

its not cyano its thick and spongy i can rub it with my finger and it stays put. i literally half to scrape it off its like a plant or a sponge.

i cant test that i dont ave a test

it is a reef tank i have mushrooms and zoanthids right now bnut this thing creeped in on me in the past few months. i hadnt added anything to this tank since october. and i do have a skimmer

oh my zoas and mushrooms seem fine like nothing is wrong i think i might need to get a new kit i think it turns a year old in march????
