I picked this up for $15 at a lfs... and im not even sure what it is. it looks similar to a brain coral i suppose.

i just looked at some pictures and it looks like a dead lobo... lol. we'll see what comes of it maybe it will get better. are they supposed to be soft? the outer edge is hard and the middle is a little soft i believe

when healthy and happy all of the flesh will be puffy and "soft". I definitely think you should try target feeding it. One shot of food, wait for it to open, and spray down the feeder tentacles with whatever you're feeding. Until it colors up (it looks mostly bleached) it may be relying on supplemental foods for sustenance. Never a bad thing anyway.
