ID please

Hi everyone! Today I noticed a bunch of these things behind the corner overflow in my tank. They're attatched to the glass and the O.F. pipes but NOT in the main dispay portion of the tank. I know Ive seen these before somewhere in all my reading, but I cant seem to remember what they are.

Any help would be appreciated.
