ID request: cone snail?

It's about 1/2 inch long.
 
I don't believe that's a cone snail.

That's some kind of conch but I'm not confident enough to throw species names out there.
 
Cone snails don't display a spiral on top of their shell, as a general rule. The spiral is confined to the very end.

You can't really go by that. They range from flat-topped to having a very elongated spire. None of them are "flattened" though (from a side view), unlike many of the columbellids.
