So I just finished with a nitrogen cycle, got some diatoms and all that good stuff. I also got this slimy looking thing on the sand bed and rocks, it's clear and I have never seen it before, please help ID it, thank you

Probably Dino's

It should pass, keep doing water changes as normal.

No fish yet, be patient.

Probably not Dino's (dinoflagellates) they are brown, at least I've never seen clear ones before. Kinda strange what you have. Do you see it during the day or only at night?

Being that it's a new tank it's probably just some other type of bacteria IMO. Assuming your parameters are within reason these things usually just run their course given time. I wouldn't panic just yet, but definitely keep us posted. GL.

+cloak/ bacterial slime/overgrowth. Continue water changes. Not enough life in new tank to feed on the bacteria. Large amount of nitrate/ nitrite/ ammonia from recent cycle feeding the bacterial growth. It should pass pretty quickly

btw if you have any foam filters on overflows or reactor pumps or filter socks that slime will foul them pretty quickly.

Yeah, I just researched dinoflagellates and mine look different, it clear (no color) I see it in day/night.

The cycle has gone about a week ago, my Nitrates gone down to 10ppm and remaining there, I plan on few water changes this week and next.

No foam filters except in my carbon/gfo reactors.

I had some weird crud like that toward the tail end of my cycle. In my case it was like snotty filaments, not really spread out. Idk, maybe it was leftover proteins from the oyster I used to start my cycle, or a bacteria bloom. It went away on its own once the proper bacteria and everything got going and I never had a problem. As long as it doesn't start taking over the tank I'd just chalk it up to cycle weirdness.
Maybe try to suck some of it out when you do your water change.

I don't see dinos either.
