Id snails good or bad

Are these guys ok for sps. they come out mainly at night. range in size to smal to about only as large as shown in pics here with pennies as refrence. thanks

If they are on your sps or near them, they are acro eating snails (welks I believe actually)! no good


Id pitch em just to be safe.

have not seen them on the sps really... only on sps if the sps is dying like last week when i did a dip with revive. smoth skin acro did not make it so well. I have lots of them.. will look up welks.. thanks

Have you ever added Nassarius snails to your tank?

They reproduce a lot in mine and that is how the babies look. Unlike the parents, they don't have a rounded shell at first.

Only on sps if they are dying!!!! That is the snail ravaging the sps. They do crazy damage at that size

do whelk snails get larger that these.. these stay at the size yo see in the pic. if i dump a piece of shrimp on a rock rubberbanded to it and place on gravel.. they do come out of the sand and head towards it..they smell it and come running.. do we have anyone else that has had these?

Whelk snails will have a hard plate on the foot when they retract. If so not good and they get bigger. I'd get rid of them if they are Whelk's

Also if you have clams, the whelks will eat them.
