ID star thing please

Hi

Can anyone help in Iding this star thing that has appeared on the side of our tank.
I have noticed that we also have some on the back of the tank as well.
they appeared over the weekend and I was wondering if they are friendly.

looks like a hydroid of sorts here

Yes, those are colonial hydroids. Scrape them off your glass now before they spread to other parts of your tank.

Thanks to you all for the ID.
Have scraped some of them off this afternoon (the ones I could reach), but will have to wait until the weekend when my partner comes home from work, to reach the others.
