ID Strange Purple Algae, PLEASE!

Hi all,

I have 1 year of experience in this hobby, so I am quite new. I need help on identify this seaweed. Anyone have any clue?

hypnea? I can't find the picture, but I've seen an identical picture of one online before...

I know it is very cool looking. I got it from a friend's tank. He got a 3 inches branch and one of them felt off, so I took it.

To me....it looks like "Dasya"....I tried to google it, it seems to be some type of algae.

I just want to know if it is for Ornament, Nutrient export, or Nuisance....I just want to make sure if it is safe for my tank.

i love some of the pacific algae, i cant imagine all of the cool stuff on the rock available localy in Phuket
