I didn't even know I had this little guy until tonight when I saw it. Is this even an anenome and is it good or bad to have in my tank?

I have a 29g with a clown fish, coral beauty angel, mandarin goby, rainbow wrase, and dart fish. I also have some small sponges and mushrooms. I have around 30-35lb of live rock. The tank has been running pretty good for about 4 months and it was a transfer from a smaller tank that was running for about 3 months before that. I have had no issues with the tank. I don't have a high powered light though. Just a 50/50 compact bulb in my cheap fixture since I didn't plan on any real light needy corals.

Should I remove this little guy or leave it in there? It's just under an inch wide.

Thanks!

better now than after his cousins move in, kinda like having roaches lol once they move in the call the family.........lol

I removed it last night. It sort of disintegrated but I used a small net and pulled out a clump of sand with it catching where ever all the bits went. I did see the stalk part in my net. Hopefully it's gone.

Thanks.

They make the family... They send spores all over the place and multiply.

So more like when it calls in it's kids.

So I removed that one I saw on Monday. But I put it in a container with the sand I removed it in. I thought it died because it broke into pieces in the net and sand. Then in the container on Tuesday night I saw there were two growing in there. I'm just kind of playing with it before I dispose of it.

But then last night I noticed on on my largest piece of live rock. It was on the edge of it so I removed the rock. I first did a freshwater dunk with just that edge (10% of the rock). Then I took it to the stove and torched the edge where it was. I hadn't seen it since but I don't know if I actually killed it or just made it hide.

How do you kill these things?

So removing the rock for a fresh water dunk and then a bit of scorching from the stove didn't help. The little bastard was still there. So I picked up some Aiptasia-X and that did the trick so far. I'm checking every day for any I've missed but hopefully I've caught it before it got out of control.
