Here is a pic of the brain. It seems to love its location. Would it be wise to feed it any krill shrimp or just phyto?

Thanks,

Trip

Before I traded mine, it loved frozen mysis shrimp. I would imagine a small krill would be good too.

Just put a few mysis on the it near the mouth and watch it slowly wrap around them. Helps to turn the flow off while doing this.

Thanks Jon,

"Just put a few mysis on the it near the mouth". Could you explain what you meant by "it" or should I read the statement leaving out the "the".

Thanks,

Trip

I think he meant , just put it on the mouth(but he was thinking or near when he typed)

Anyway, same difference, on or near the mouth and the thing will be licking his lips :D

Well, maybe not the last part ;) But mysis, small bits of squid, or krill would all be readily consumed by this guy, and IMO will benefit much more than phyto supplementing. I think of phyto just for my pods, featherdusters, and softies (basically all your filter feeders)more so than my lps which are more carniverous. Although my frogspawn noticbly reacted to phyto, but theyre all just as happy with my diet I give em of rotifers and mysis.

the ID is a trachophyllis(?spelling) typically a figure eight type shape as they grow. If you want to ensure that none of your other creatures steal it's dinner, put a 2 L pop bottle that has been cut in half over it while it feeds.

I fed my brain afew mysis shrimp. It was cool to see it close up and reopen again. Knd a like a magician. Hide the mysis.

A nice side note to feeding the brain. My mandarin appears to have a taste for the mysis. This is a good thing! Now to figure out how to feed her so hat she and only she gets the mysis.
