i'm guessing Gonodactylus chiragra does it have white meral spots? I hope this is in a different tank then your spearer becuase they look like the same tank

yup seperate tanks - floated them both in there as the light is better - and the puffer has been moved also if you spotted that!
Thanks again to those who replied.

When will i start hearing smacking sounds then? My peacock doesnt smash as its only just regrown its smashers but they are on the gonodactylus without a doubt - i just chucked a big tiger snail in there and it just picked it up and shuffled it out of its burrow!

My peacock smashes stuff all day long. The babysitter that stays at our house during the day says that she (the peacock) is always hitting the front glass......which makes me really nervous........

Mine hasnt hit anything once yet!
i got him from a lfs mate i just had them order it from tmc.
i hope this boy gets some balls soon!
He wont pose a threat to the longspine urchin in there will he? i suppose i should be greatful that he has used my old yellowhead jawfish burrow that is right at the front of the tank. i really love mantis but it turns out that ive not had the best luck - first a peacock with no appendages at all - then i get a perfect Raoulserenea - then a male chiragra that isnt striking (hopefully settling in first!) and a Squilla Rugosa (or p cilata) that looks to have shell disease. i plan to get another mantis next week also. thanks for the replies - he seems fairly active too!
