This was purchased as an algae eater?

If so, where?
If not, what was the last thing you added that it could have been on?
Do you know if it's eating anything?
If so, what?

Got it from an lfs was told it was an algae eater. It is about 2" and was on the glass at lfs and on glass on my tank.

Personally, I'm not that great with slug IDs, Don will probably be able to give you an accurate ID.

If I were to guess, I'd say some kind of sponge eating species?

Yep, it's Halgerda carlsoni. I caught one just like it in Tonga .

Unfortunately, they are sponge eaters, so yours is likely to starve to death in a couple of months.
