Here it is under 10k:

And under Actinic:
pearlberryact.jpg

Thanks

Fooled me. :p

It doesnt look anything like the Pearlberry I have. Maybe its just the angle, I dont know.

No worries.
It's because it has been under 10k.
If you look at the pics on oracoral there is a pic that looks more
like this. I have a piece that looks more like the usuals in my
display under 12k w/actinic. It's just too far from the glass to get
a good focused pic.

I guess it could be that Pearlberry, but it does not look the same as even that ORA picture. There is no way to know for certain from pictures.

Negative.
Its pearlberry.
I just recieved confirm from ORA directly.
They also gave me this site which I will post in it's own thread as well.
http://www.oracoral.com/

that is not an offical ora website, nor would anyone from ORA tell you that is a pearlberry!
I have pics of my pearlberry, along with others on oracoral.com

the offical ora site is
http://www.orafarm.com/
ora will not ID corals for you, so do not try!

Actually they did reffer me to this site, and actually they did ID this coral for me as stated above. This is a Pearlberry, and it is growing under 10k about 4 inches under the surface. That is why it does'nt look like yours. In my display it looks much more like the other pics I have seen. So thanks for calling me a liar, but all corals look different in different conditions, and apparently the Pearlberry is no acception.

no sorry if I made it sound like that, I was just assuming you were getting the id from a certin person on oracorals, and not from the real site! I am really sorry If I made it sound like that!
I guess i should stop posting first thing when I wake up!
again sorry!

No worries.
The more I post on these and other boards the more I realize that the typed word is not a very effective means of communicating certain things. Also I have read some threads
myself and replied, only to find that I had misunderstood the
original post.

you are right Frankenpora but they do not want poeple sending them 1000 of pic a day to ID. I got a good college friend that supplys them lights bulbs and ather things. and was able to take a tour of the glass fram about 2yrs ago all I got to say is WOW and it what got me in to this hobbie. Thanks ORA

Without a doubt this is true. I think that is why thwey gave me the site above to spread the word. I feel very fortunate that they were able to look at this one for me. I actually knew what it was, but another local reefer was questioning my ID. Since I wanted to be certain after that I contacted them. I got it right when the new series was coming out, so I have traded around 10 frags of it.
It's actually amazing how different this looks between my display with reeflux 12k, and my grow out tank with hamilton 10k's.
They are all part of the same system so it's just a light intensity thing. I am just as amazed at how different the Red Planet looks in different conditions.
