Pretty sure it's a Aiptasia anemone. Good or bad? Depending on your intended setup I'm going to say bad.I think most would consider Aiptasia a pest.they can quickly take over a tank.if you are trying to acclimate a butterfly they can be useful I've heard. Use caution when exterminating. Choosing the wrong method can result in propagation. Good luck

it looks like aiptasia to me as well. i consider aiptasia bad. i took a tank down because they were taking over the tank fast and i got tired of kalk pasting them.

Its an aiptasia, I use Red Sea aiptasia x to get them gone.. You really don't want them taking over.. Its really EZ to use. It will be gone the next day. I keep it around just in case I see one..

If you can remove the rock with ease you cold just burn it off with a cigarette lighter.

poor aiptasia has feelings too....

Nuke it Quickly or it will be 2 aiptasia . 4 aiptasia.. 10 aiptasia 100 aiptasia... Aiptasia tank nightmare

What about these ones guys, thanks again! :)

Will either of these get bigger, how big?
Do/when do I need to start feeding them, what, how much, and when? I am so happy!:D

I've got a serpent that has to be over long.if the center body looks meaty he's good to go.I feed mine small peaces of shrimp or fish every few days.it likes to come out at night.

Tried to reply from my phone earlier that never works out for me.anyway from what I can tell from your pictures. It could vary be a serpent star.I've got one that looks similar but mine has to be a foot long or better.I use a feeding stick that looks like a shish-ka-bob stick or long tooth pick to feed it.I find it easiest to feed it at night. As long as it not a green serpent I think your safe.mine hasn't bothered any corals or fish. Good luck with it
