Can someone ID this crab and tell me if its reef safe

looks like the same genus as a calico crab, I wouldnt trust it

its some kind of Xanthid crab, possibly a Macromedaeus nudipes Xanthids are known to be coral munchers. ban it to the sump.

well since you cant really call ANY crabs completely reef safe (they're all oportunistic..meaning if they find a chance to kill something for food, they might just take that chance )
then i'd have to say that he would eventually not be so great...possibly..That and the fact that i think its the same thing that paintbug thinks it is
