looks like it's something on your sandbed. Dinoflagellates maybe? Can you give us a better description of what it is?

It's green and a rust coloed brown all over the sand bed with a little on the rocks. Almost all is on the sand.

Oh with a few patches of purple here and there.

How old is the tank? It may be just diatoms and green hair algae that are part of setting up a new marine aquarium. The purple is coralline and is good stuff.
