Idea for a future Sump

So I was thinking about it, and the most annoying thing to have to do is acclimate your fish. So why not put a way to do it in your sump. It would be easy to make a small square area that is separate from the sump. So basically here is how it would work, you would empty the new fish/coral into a little 5 gallon area with a small power head. Then you would turn on a small little knob connected to the main sump, that would drip 3 drops of water into the tank every second or so. After letting it fill up some, then you would open up the second knob to get rid of some of the water, then let if it fill empty etc...

i think itd wurk..i wouldnt make it 5 gallons tho since theres usuall only a little bag full of water

That was just a random number, but I'm thinking 5 tall so that there is room for it to go up, but not much room to go outwards.

seems so much easier (and simpler) to just put the fish in a 5 gallon bucket and put a drip hose in it. you dont have to worry about draining it because you can just dump it out when your done. also, you have to clean out the sump area afterwards because you had fish store wwater in it and you dont want to mix that with your system. i can poke a few more holes in it but you get the idea.

also, i mean how many times you acclimate fish? i would not think often enough to warrant using up valuable sump space which could be used for other more important uses such as a nutrient export, etc.

i think it would be a good idea if you plan on having a heavily stocked reef, plus it can be used for coral acclimation.

I wouldn't put fish store water that close to my water. Couldn't you just put the valve going outside the sump and then when it is needed you could hook it up to a bucket? If really needed you could also put a drain at the bottom of the bucket as well.

That's also a good idea, have a valve out the side of the sump, that has a hose on it to a bucket.
