Idea for bubble algae removal tool

I have read many times that popping the bubbles without syphoning will only make things worse.

But when an Emerald Crab eats the bubble he pops them and must release the contents of the bubbles , unless he uses a straw LOL.
Would that not aid in the spreading of the Algae ?
Any thoughts on this ?

I've always questioned this as well. My completely unscientific hunch... Most crabs start out the medium to big ones, probably popping/releasing. Next they go for smaller, and smaller, etc. My hunch is that there is a certain point where the vast majority of bubble algae is popped, not enough algae spores land in a good spot to start growing again, and eventually it just disappears. They basically harass it out of existence. :lmao:
