Ideal ATO containers

I use a dog food container from PetSmart.

It's airtight.

It's made to hold (dog) food.

I have a two switch autotopoff.com system but I only keep a gallon or two in the container in case it malfuntions.

I use mixed Kalk water so I don't want 5 gallons at once...

I use something similar ... A charcoal container I picked up from Wal-Mart/Sam's

I use it with my Tunze osmolator ... holds about 7 gallons ... works great.

If I had seen that container at Petsmart, I probably would have use it instead.

Empty 5 gallon left over instant ocean salt bucket works great. There is no need to spend a lot of money. It is just to hold RODI (or Kalkwasser). Every so often I rinse it well and wipe the inside down.

Of course.. get something big enough to be convenient and keep up with your evap rate.

I still would love to find a good pump which has capable head pressure to get my top off water up from my basement. I could control it with my controller, but I still need pumps that can pump the head height I need through small tubing.

IMO, key is to find a container that will provide adequate supply for at least a few days or more, but not be so big that if your ATO float switch should stick in the 'on' position, it won't overfill/overflow your system and make a big mess on the floor. For my 125, an old 5-gallon IO salt bucket works well. GL!
