I started a new thread to discuss ideas for meetings because I did not want to get off topic of private versus public status of the club. This topic really (I don't think) relates to whether the club is private or public.
I know that many of you have been the founders of this club or at least got it to where it is, however, I felt semi lost yesterday. I know that you may have tried some of these things in the past, but ..... is it not worth another try?
1. Have smaller round table discussions (at some point in the meeting) for beginners, intermediate and advanced. This gives beginners the opportunity to get to know some on a more personal level as well as ask questions in a little less intimidating forum. Sometimes we just want to know how you mix your saltwater for water changes. The advanced can talk about issues that they may be experiencing or considering.
2. Could we possibly try different days of the week? I can volunteer some of my time, but very minimal on Sundays. It is rare I can attend much less volunteer.
3. I know this is a public club and we don't want to be overly professional,
but, I learned a fair amount yesterday in spite of a lot talking in the hall. Even if the demo is not for you, please be considerate.
4. Have a schedule (time) so that if some cannot attend for the whole time, they can come for things that suit their needs.
Anyway, thanks for your time in my thoughts.
