Tank has been running over a year and I think its finally time to skin it. Just looking for ideas on what people have used on their builds. Its a metal frame so was thinking something magnetic with removable panels.
I have a steel frame on my 220. It was set up as a peninsula so I had an end panel to deal with. I tapped the frame and screwed thru to the wood face frames from the inside of the stand. Unfortunately due to the size and weight of my panels I didn't have enough screws to support them, so I had to use liquid nails or something from Lowes to glue the face frames to the steel in addition to the screws. Doors and face frames were both way over built @ 3/4" each.
Going to be building a new stand in a few months at a new house and will probably use strong magnets or some sort of catch system to hold the panels in place.
Nice tank.. I saw a stand awhile back that had that fogged white acrylic as a skin on his meatl stand, looked pretty cool. I looked into that stuff and its not cheap.
Don't remember what site I saw the tank on but the builder used indoor metal roof tiles and attached magnets to the back. May not be the look for everyone but I thought it looked pretty good.
Indoor metal roof tiles...Hmmm..Was also maybe thinking Diamond plate painted black, but dont want to look cheesy.. Ill keep the float switch idea in mind thanks..

Thats not a bad idea SnoopyDaPimp.. Need to price out some diamond plate. I believe diamond plate is stainless steel so shouldnt have a big problem rusting being near the tank.
