Ideas for Top Down Photo Box

Has anybody found a nice, clear container that they are using as a photo box? I know Melev makes a great one and CPR makes a surface viewer that can be used but I only use a cell phone and/or a P&S camera to take photos and don't want to purchase one for just a few shots off and on. I have a large tank at the moment but it's only 12" deep so this is a must for taking pictures.
Any ideas would be appreciated :).

I have one but it's crappy and not clear anymore. I walked around our kitchen and looked around. It seems like glass jars all have writing on the bottom.

Lee's used to make those boxes to hang on the outside of the aquarium for removing and acclimating fish. Shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks but it'll take a little force to hold it in the water

:) You can try finding a small tank. The pet store here used to sell small 2.5 gallon tanks. The problem you're going to have with just about anything you find that isn't a flat sheet of acrylic or glass is distortion out the wazoo.

True, I know there has to be something out there under my nose that is cheap. I wonder if a small acrylic display case would work. The kind you can get for baseballs and such.

I made this...

Its an ABS coupler... something like 4"... available at Home Depot or any hardware store for that matter, then a bit of clear acrylic and some weld-on.

I don't think it is overkill at all. It looks like a nice piece for sure. That's a small price to pay to keep your gear dry.
Right, but I have a cell phone and a teeny tiny P&S to use with it lol. It does look nice and it will be nice to be able to attach a camera to it.
