Identify this wrasse please.

Got this wrasse for $7 from a local place. I believe it's a fairy wrasse but can't find a pic of one similar. Thanks in advance. I've had him for like 3 mos and he is the coolest fish. He always comes up to my hand, loves trying to eat my arm hair and is super social if your next to the tank he's out

Many LFS sell 'unknown small (juvi) wrasses for less than $10...
1st day pics were 'stressed' colors...
Hard to tell but could be a female 'social' wrasse !!!!

Thanks guys Googled both and it's not the social wrasse but it is close I think it is the red finned fairy wrasse. Thanks btkrausen.

I'll try to get a pic w fins up tomorrow when the light are on. He doesn't extend much though unless he is ****ed off. He goes at it sometimes with my Midas blenny. So hopefully I can snap one when he does. I'll post back when I get it. Thanks

try using your hand as another fish. close the hand then flash it open. almost like your a wrasse flashing at him

I will try that. He's def not scared of me though he will eat from my fingers. tomorrow I should be able to get one. I'll look at my pics on te computer I might have one.

when buying wrasse in stores thats what i do, esp if its a flasher. i mimic being a flasher to get them to display the dorsal and pectoral fins. i love fish lol

He is a flashing junkie! :lol:

My fairy wrasses always flash at me when I try taking pictures or after feeding. Looks like a nice wrasse though! Nice score.
