Just figured I'd let everyone know there are 2 Morish Idol's at Tropiquarium. I know...There is slim to none chance that they survive in the home aquarium. I figured if anyone wanted to give it a shot they would want to know!

big price jump too. they used to sell them for about $40. not too long ago. my wife and I were always tempted but knew better. what are they now, around $100?

I believe they were $115 or something about that.. And nanoreef its not like they are better off at Trop then they are in someone elses tank. So good come back buddy ;)

animals n things in woodbridge has 4.. $55 each.. all eating.. i was tempted to buy them all..

Yeah, I saw them. It's like putting candy in front of a little kid.
I want, I want, I want, I want.......

I just bought a copperband butterfly from animals n things ( against my better judgement ) but he was eating well... about 3 weeks later i noticed some bumps on his side... ( like some growths inside as his scales were fine ) in a day he was gone.... and he ate like a champ up till the end... ( he was fed twice a day )

The Idols we have at trop eat very well. We make sure they eat before we bring them in. Fishmaster, they do quite well provided you take care of them. They arent a beginners fish, and we make sure people know that if they are interested in them

I was no way ranking on the store! :) I love the store!! I just did not want to be on the receiving end of the bashing so had to cover myself up ;) OH and btw the fact that they are eating makes me wish I had the tank for them  ...what are you gonna do maybe someday...And I think those idols would make a great addition to that angel tank!

For me to see it eating doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t really say that much. Even though it is eating it is not eating the correct diet and will, in most cases, die in a few months time. Sponges, tunicates and other benthic invertebrates constitute the bulk of an Idol's diet.
I wouldnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t put one in any tank smaller then a 125G but to see them crusing the 1600 would look awesome.

A quote from WWMââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦

"The odd one lives... I would wager more than 99% are dead w/in a month of collection. Good luck to you. Bob Fenner"

He does stress to use Spectrum foods. I would need to do more research but apparently more people are keeping them longer using this brand of pellet food. Here is the linkââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦

Sharks, I agree. We should all strive to provide the best diet for our fish, including different brands of dry food and vitamin supplements. It is, however, promising to see how eager they are to eat anything that hits the water.
