If money was no object.... What would you build?

I have already planned my dream tank:

Its 12 feet X 8 X 8. Comes out to 5,745.0 U.S. gallons

I also have all the filtration set up.

Great rendering !!! :)

When do you get started?

With that limitation I would have to buy all three houses/properties that touch mine and just expand a little:) As I posted in another similar thread 3-4 tanks of somewhat unique shapes around 1000G+/- each and a large concrete and steel L around 8000G.

You should Google Oregon reef. I think it's about what I would like... maybe a little taller but it's manageable and gives me time to have a life, and not dedicate 100% of my time cleaning. Plus, I wouldn't trust a maid or Butler to take care of mine.....

Too big requires a staff or too much time.... I like large but manageable.

I have a 300 gallon now and i woudl still downsize! i think big tanks are ALOT of work , time, dedication etc. etc. its almost a second job. HOWEVER if i did have my choice i would go 100% fully automated system with as litle to no work as possible.

Im talking automatic 10% water changes weekly, automated dosing, automatic skimmer cleaning,Auto top-off, auto frozen and dry good feeders, something automatic to clean the inside of my glass, smething to rotate and clean my filter bags every 2 days, complete and live feeds of ALL of my water parameters to my phone or computor wth automatic dosing corrections to keep the tank SUPER STABLE...well you get the point

I would put a 10'Lx18"Dx14"H peninsula lagoon style aquarium supplied mainly by natural sunlight, and my favorite fishys would be in there :D

20'x4'x3'

I'm planning a 12' x 3.5' x 2.5' but that's a multi-year project that will not be a reef....just a FOWLR.

I want to create a pool between 500.000 and 1.000.000 liters of water. Full of tangs, angelfishes, corals, etc. Toooooo many $

I've seen the same comment about a "manageable" tank. If money is no object would you still do the maintenance or have someone else do it?

How many gallons is too much to handle?

This is about as much fun as the person that always says "imagine if all this were real money" when you're playing Monopoly.

Then you grow up and realize that the huge sum of $2000 that you got for someone landing on Boardwalk with a hotel is about what "Free Parking" would cost you in midtown manhattan for a month.... ;)

Some interesting responses on here.
I would have to say that my ideal setup would definitely be some kind of L shape or wrap-around that is also an in-wall, so I could have a sweet in-wall fish room. This setup would max out on low-maintenance costs and environmental footprint, with natural lighting supplemented by LEDs, geothermal temperature management, solar power array to drive pumps, etc. Would also have to have the tank situated so that it could be both indoor and outdoor somehow, like with one section in a florida room and an awesome tiki bar!

Thanks for helping me dream!

Very interesting the part about being in and out of the house at the same time.

This has been a very interesting thread as I've seen some amaizing wish lists.
