If you had a 29gallon

I'd have to agree that the biggest single problem I faced with my 26 was the constant meandering of mt RBTA.

... the other was GSP ... Satan's marine form for sure.

My o. clowns never looked twice at my frog spawn but took to the RBTA like it was always home. You never know what is going thru those little fish's brains.

like chasdb said no matter what you buy theres no guarantee your clowns will host it. no matter what i add my clown still loves his upper right front corner of the tank.

since you plan on doing a reef in a 29g i wouldn't recommend an anemone

i know you mentioned an angel earlier. i love my cherub pygmy angel really one of the only angels i would suggest for a 29.

We have a 30G RedSeaMax. We have a BTA in it with 2 Occ Clowns with no issues. They previously hosted a large torch (same family as Frogspawn) but their constant thrashing around in it killed it. Euphylia (frogspawn, torch, hammer) corals are not very adapt at hosting something like a clownfish. Clownfish put alot of stress on a coral and can easily damage their skeleton causing them to get a secondary infection and/or die. I've also seen clowns kill Gonioporas and frogpsawns quite happily. An Anemone (BTA, RBTA, LTA, Carpet) is really the best choice.

We have:
2 Occ Clowns (with BTA)
Coral Banded Shrimp
Allens Damsel
Lawnmower Blenny
Flame Angel

in a RSM. No aggression, no issues. All are plump, healthy and eat well. The BTA once settled has proven to be an adequate choice for the clowns to host in. Anemones after all are the family of natural hosts for a clownfish.
