I have caught all my fish from my mixed reef DT. I put them in a QT set salinity at 1.009. My question is what do I have to do to my DT. Will the parasites just die off in the DT wihout any hosts?

From what I have been reading, and I have been reading a LOT, the Ich parasite will have died off in 10 weeks time.....supposedly

thanks. thats what i was hoping for. I had heard 4-6 with an extra 2 just in case. Any other insight would be great. :debi:

I am in the process of taking 8 fish to Hypo city while I have 4 last holdouts in the DT (Hippo & 3 Blue Chromis) It looks like i am going to have to starve them out...

I used the fish trap

I recommend 10 weeks. 4-6 is definitely not enough, as 4 weeks itself is the averaged life cycle time in tropical temperature.
