I know at some point we have all had a Hippotang that has had Ich. What can I do to get rid of it in a reef aquarium? He has had a couple of spots for a couple of months and now they are all over him. HELP!!

Tang are prone to ich and the hippo is one of the worst for it. In most cases, when the tang calms down the ich goes away. Ich is like a common cold in the air/water. You can keep an eye on him/her to see if nothing is picking on him/her and stressing the fish out. If it's a fish only tank and you don't mind medicating the tank there are products out there that say they rid the tank of ich. Other than that I have ben told that a good UV will kill the free floating ich in the water.
? is the tang rubbing on rocks and the sand. Is the tang eating? Who is the dominant fish in the tank?
If it's been there for a month then my guess is that something is bothering the fish causing undue stress.
That's my 10c
