I'm a sucker...

A few days ago I decided to put together a freshwater tank and then started poking around here and after looking at the awesome coral, I decided there was nowhere else to go. So, I'm getting a 12q aquapod from a friend at work. I'm excited to get into this. My other main hobby is collecting arcade cabinets, so my wife is excited that aquariums (Potentially ;) ) take up less space.
This seems like a nice hobby I can get into with my daughter and keep learning about for a while. If anyone has some suggestion for a newbie please send them my way.

Thanks,
Steve

Just do asmuch reaserch as you can before you make livestock purchases & get the best equipment that your budget will allow. I always hate it when i buy something to save a buck then have to buy it again later. Always cost moreto do it a 2nd time.
Good luck & feel free to ask all the questions you need to.

1. Research livestock before buying.
2. Take your time. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby.
3. Join a reef club, lots of knowledge, used equipment and coral frags available.

Hope to see you at a meeting.

Get yourself a good book because when you are starting out you will go back to it again and again. The internet can be a overwhelming place to start learning and try and navigate through all the information (or misinformation). Do come to the meeting on the 20th it will be at MemFish and Richard had a good selection of books at the store. (I already have my eye on one). That is funny about your wife being happy about you getting into the reef aquarium hobby. I think it would make a good twilight zone episode :)

Twilight Zone episode....... Here Here
Those of you who know what I've been through this past week.

Welcome to the reef community. Nick will be an excellent source of knowledge!! Of, course, being his Mom, I am a little partial. Seriously, you are about to embark on a great adventure and hopefully one the whole family will enjoy. Now, if I could just win over my husband!!

Steve-O is getting my established 12G Aquapod. It has the PC lights and I know for a fact that he has been doing his research. I will make sure that he does not rush into anything.

Nick
