When my rockwork collapsed yesterday, I turned off the fan to work on the tank. Didnt think to plug it back in. Shouldnt have been a problem but I went to the game so never came home. Tank was 87.8

I am so ****ed at myself. Just a wait and see now

I have had tanks get up to 90 deg. for a few hours and slowly come back down with no noticable problems. If its short term its usually ok.

Thanks guys, I have the fan on high and my ice packs I keep in the freezer for emergencies like this. Temp is down to 86 now

don't bring it down to fast, big temp changes to quick can cause stress on tank inhabitants. 87.8 not bad just keep fan on forget ice packs those are for far more emergencies like when it gets 94 or higher from a power outtage.

I agree bring it down slowly.

If you didn't see anything wrong when the tank temp was that high, I think you should be okay.. Any time my temp has effected the tank I could see something wrong at the time the temp was high, and then it went down hill from there. I have had my tank get close to 90° a couple time with no big affects. But Fast swings in temp will do more damage then the temp being high.

Did you decide on a controller yet? You can get the neptune to control your tunze's now. Were your lights on during that time? You can set the controller to kick off the lights as well as it reaches whatever you decide your temps.

Sounds like you were in the market for a controller. It would be a shame to crash a tank that you have so much invested in over a couple hundred bucks. I personally think it will be fine but it could have been much worse.

I am getting a controller with my frag money, just need to decide which one and then understand them.

Yeah I need one badly because although it doesnt heat up fast, it sure doesnt cool down fast either LOL

sorry been super busy

Tanks seems to be fine, having some super colors come out. If you have time run on out tonight, wife is out of town and Im just putzing around with the tank. Feel free to bring the wife

Clark, was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for the great deal! I'm guessing the heat didn't bother anything becuase you're tank looked fantastic!! Very impressive!
