I'm back nano coming

After taking a break from reefing for a little over a year I'm seriously considering getting back into it. I sold everything so I'll be starting from scratch. I want to go with the aquapod 12 with the upgraded to the hydor and mj 12. I will keep the stock lighting as I will only be keeping zoas, lps, rics and things like that. What I want to know is who here keeps a bare bottom nano? I'm considering this option as I went through the whole dsb failure. Which, basically caused me to get out of the hobby. I've been looking around for the best deal on one of these so if you have any suggestions let me know. Also, post some pics of yours for inspiration.:D

A ten gallon tank costs $10, that leaves a lot of money for the toys. I don't understand spending a ton of money for a tank that has to be modified.

I have a DSB that's four years old and a shallow sandbed that's three years old. Both work fine. Bare bottom is ugly imo, but whatever floats your boat.

Agu, thanks for the welcome back. I know that bb is quite different as I have always used a sandy bottom. I love the look of sand but I also like the simplicity of the bb tanks. I even considered making one of thoes faux sandy bottom tanks, but who knows. I'm just really excited about getting back into the hobby after such a long break. I lurked alot but never really posted much. This place is what I attribute to my successful reefkeeping, becuase truth be told, prior to this place was trial and error. And do I ever mean error. It's good to be back.

I would go with a shallow sand bed since you are not interested in huge flow anyway.

IMHO, bare bottom in a nano is reserved for huge flow SPS nano's, or those whose sand have all ended up at the back of the rock works and can't be bothered fixing it :D

If you do want BB, I would put a starboard (marine grade HDPE) in there. It looks much better than bare glass.
