Today they got a bit of garlic enriched PE mysis for breakfast. Bonnie was going after the bigger pieces and Clyde was getting the bite size. Yesterday they had Formula 1 small pellets.
I'm hoping they will eventually breed. I told my husband if they do our basement will become the grow out station!
hmmm maybe I should pick up Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson for some reading material in the meantime....now b/c i'm waiting for them...they'll never breed, right!
I'm cycling my old rock from my old tank. Put the rock in yesterday and ammonia is at 1.2 and it's starting to smell ripe! Ammonia kit expired last August and was actually in the throw away pile...just hadn't thrown it yet. Tested it against my ro water and that did come out as 0 so I'm assuming it's still accurate. Rock water is cloudy too. I'm thinking it's going to be hard and long cycle and not quick!
Here's a pic of the cycling rock.
Some pics of Bonnie and Clyde today. They separate at night. Bonnie sleeps vertical on the back right seal. Clyde floats at the top in the back left corner!

I highly recommend Joyce's book. There's a GREAT wealth of information in it on different types of clowns, breeding them , & raising the fry. btw, Bonnie & Clyde are a gorgeous pair. Ya did good...Congrats & good luck with them!:thumbsup:
Pics today. Just felt like trying to take a few pics Water is a bit cloudy cause I just did a water change.
They are kinda hard to photograph. They swim sooo much! Still in their temporary tank. Waiting until the new rock is cycled to move them around
nice fish korrine,,, i know this is off topic but how do you manage to get that heater to work and stay at a constant temp??? i cant get mine to stay constant at all....
I set it at 81 and it stays at 78.7ish. I watched it like a hawk in the beginning, but not so much now that it has been constant. That is the reason I have the glass thermometer in there. I also have a coralife thermometer. I do have a RKL that I will hook up when their main tank is ready.
If your heater is that off you should probably take it back.
I'm buying a drilled 40 breeder from a lrc member. He also built me a custom stand and canopy! He should be delivering Thursday. Clowns are getting their permanent home soon!!! Will start a clown habitat build thread as it happens
Here's a video of Bonnie picking at the heater probe. She does this quite a bit...haha! Sorry it's sideways. Forgot photo gallery won't let me turn it
