In this post I talk about my new buy! :)

Light:
Aquatic Life t5ho dual lamp.
pump:
hydor koralia nano 425.

Finally, after 3-4 months of having my 20 gallon long set up and running. I have better lighting...at first I only had one of those x1 bulb fluorescent light fixture. My upgrade was to a T5HO dual lamp fixture. 10,000k daylight, 420/460 actinic blue. Looks gorgeous!

And my return jet is fighting along side my new hydor koralia nano 425 I also bought with this light. $20 for this pump, brand NEW! gotta love dr foster and smith ;)

I'm excited to see what I decide on putting in my tank. seems like yesterday I was asking questions about cycling...this tank has come alone way with in the past few weeks...even though it is still empty of fish/corals.

Got most of the equipment, though. would like a ATO, skimmer, and a timer to time these lights.

Question:
how long should I keep my lights on?
I'm a night owl, so I'm up during the night...a lot.

lastly, here are a few photos.

thanks for reading! :) happy reefing, fellas

Looking good! Thanks for sharing

With nothing in the tank the lights aren't really necessary but we all like to stare at our tanks :)

Hey, no problem!, I'm just breaking them in. my roommate is going to turn them off while I'm at work tonight. They'll be on for about 7 hours.

I do have 2 turbo snails in there. Might add my clown fish back in a few days. I've had them in the QT for weeks! because I was a bit worries on how their pooped looked. It was white and stringy, I feed them frozen mysis.
And with this shipment, I also got some dry food pellets, Marine S formula (for small fish) and one clown eats like crazy, most likely the female...she's big.

And she seems to be pooping normal, as in it's not stringy as much. Still a bit white in color, though. Well, I just fed them that new food today...so I don't know.

What would you say about adding them back to my DT? They don't have ich/flukes...they breath just fine, and swim a lot.

sorry to change up the subject, just want them to be in my DT! :)

The tank has been up for 4 months? so it's cycled? I only ask due to your statement about coming a long way in the past few weeks? If it's cycled and your water chemistry is good I'd add em :) You QT a fish because of how their poo looked?

To your last question....Yeah, I'm a newb to having saltwater fish. any fish, at that! except when I was a young lad! haha I had few freshwater, nothing big.

Yes, my tank is cycled pretty well.
I do water changes when it's really needed. 20ppm nitrates+...but I try ti stay with 10% weekly...sometimes wait 2 weeks to do a 20%. I change it up, seems to work just fine with me. Usually every sunday is a chance to do any water changes needed.

My next purchase will be a PROTEIN SKIMMER!! Any suggestions on one that would fit in the aqeon proflex sump model 1?

My percula pair have been in this QT since 11/29/13...I got them the 24th of November.

So, I think this QT period is far over done...eh, I'ts my first attempt in looking at marine fish in my own home. At least I took some kind of precaution ;)

Thanks a lot!, I'll be acclimating these fellas to the DT real soon...and they are back in their home!

These guys go all gonzo for the marine s pellet food :) going to feed this twice a day, and frozen mysis once a week. Just from this marine s, they get big belly's.

But anyway, I absolutely love this light. Corals are well on their way into my tank
