I have 105 gallon (54" x 22" x 21") display tank.

Do you think I can keep trigger fishes in this tank?

I wish to keep 3 different kind trigger fish, (clown, picaso and ??)
Can you recommend me third fish?

I'm going to start with small size, introduce into the tank simultaneously if possible.

Any comment on my plan is welcomed !!

any small trigger will work. It is when they get to the 4-5" mark that they start figuring out if they want to be kind, submissive or alpha.

my 125 is all triggers, my planned fish list is

1 niger
1 pink tail
1 clown
1 blue throat

i'd suggest a blue throat trigger (male) beautiful fish, w/ great color

That tank will be really nice until the clowntrigger snaps and kills the other three.

HA! My 6" blue line has been punking my 5" clown trigger a bit, but tonight I notice a white patch on the back side of the blue line......and the damsel or the others gave it to 'em!

We shall see if this trigger get triggered!

hey danorth, do you have any pics of your blue line? does he have lots of blue on him? mine is only around 1.5" and is still mostly yellow.

Blueline is a different story than the triggers mentioned above. They get large enough that they can hold their own. They're also known for obliterating tanks.

he just looks mean! Not a tank Id want to put my hand in! Beautiful fish though!!

It is starting to get a touch mean, but only to the clown trig...I can hand feed it though and rub its 'nose' area.

Yes, but it was the clown that tagged back on the blue line. We shall see! Just for the record, I will intervene before it gets serious....

It matters what is 'fully grown' in the home tank a 10" clown seems to be the max size if grown from smaller. I do not know what a bl will grow to in the home tank...as for what I do have currently is a 12" coris, 5.5" emp, 5.5" clown trig, 3" clown tang, and a damsel!

I hope to get a 180 or 240 in a year. 240 hopefully!

I've seen clown triggers grown to the 15" range in tanks, and bluelines around 20". If they blueline is full grown, IME, not much can stand up to it, including a large clown trigger.

Dave

Really? 20" in home tanks? If so I better start saving!

Yeah, I've seen the pics of the full size ones on google....they could take most anything out.

Hey guys you pretty much covered it all so I really cont have much input . Unless your going to UPgrade I would pick the fav trigger and just go with one of the more agressive triggers but you could sneak in a few if your gonna stay in the more dosile side . such as blue throat pink tails that kind trigger .
